Burst pipes don't care what time it is. Frozen pipes thawing on a January morning, a corroded joint giving way at 11pm, a washing machine hose splitting at the worst possible moment. Fast response is everything.

Before calling us — turn off your stopcock. It's usually under the kitchen sink. That single action stops more damage than anything we can do in the time it takes us to arrive.

We carry common pipe sizes, fittings, and isolation valves in the van. Most bursts are made safe and dry within an hour of arrival; permanent repair is either same-visit or scheduled for the next day if specialist parts are needed.

First — turn off your stopcock
Usually under the kitchen sink. Turn it clockwise until water stops. This is the single most important thing. Tell us when you call whether you've found it.

Make safe on arrival
First job is to stop water flow if you haven't already. Isolate the affected section so the rest of the house has water.

Identify and fix
Locate the burst, clean the area, and either fit a permanent repair on the spot or a temporary one if specialist parts are needed (return visit booked before we leave).

Document and advise
Photos, written description of cause and fix, advice on drying out, what to claim for if you're insuring it. We act as your trade witness.

How fast can you really come?

Within central London/M25, typically 1-2 hours. Further out, 2-4 hours. Christmas Day, NYE, bank holidays — we're still answering, but might be longer. We're always honest about ETA.

What does the £150 cover?

Attendance + first hour of work. That's enough for most bursts (isolation, pipe repair, refit). Larger repairs (multi-section pipe runs, hidden under floors) get quoted in writing before continuing.

Is this an insurance claim?

Often yes — most home insurance covers escape of water. We provide written reports and photos suitable for claims. The leak detection fee and repair cost are usually claimable.

Can I claim damage to belongings?

Yes, contents insurance covers water-damaged items. Photograph everything before clean-up. Our report identifies the cause which helps the claim go through.
